SHOP LOCAL & WIN – DOWNTOWN WHITBY
Official Rules & Regulations

 

ELIGIBILITY

Participants: This event is open to all customers who make a purchase at Downtown Whitby BIA businesses* between March 1 and 31, 2026.
Businesses: Must be located within the Downtown Whitby BIA and be a Downtown Whitby Business Improvement Area (DWBIA) member.

HOW TO ENTER

There are three ways to participate and win:
1- Shop Local: Spend $20 or more (before tax) at any Downtown Whitby BIA business*.
2- Leave a Google Review: Post a Google review for any Downtown Whitby BIA business*, take a screenshot of your review, and upload it to the contest website.
3- Leave a Yelp Review: Post a Yelp review for any Downtown Whitby BIA business*, take a screenshot of your review, and upload it to the contest website.

⭐ Bonus Entry: Earn an extra entry for any single purchase of $100 or more (before tax).


RECEIPT & REVIEW SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible, the uploaded receipt/review must clearly show:

✔ Business name
✔ Purchase date (March 1–31, 2026, for receipts only)
✔ Purchase amount (for receipts only)
✔ Complete review, including participant’s name and full comment

Each valid receipt counts as one entry into the weekly draws.

 

PRIZE DETAILS

Weekly Prize Draws (March 9, 16, 23 & April 1)
    • Winner: One participant will be randomly selected to receive a $250 gift card from the same local business where they made their purchase or submitted a Google/Yelp review.
    • Winning Business: The business on the winning receipt will also receive a $250 gift card to a local business of their choice.

    * Participation in the Shop Local Whitby program is exclusive to businesses located within the official boundaries of the Downtown Whitby Business Improvement Area (BIA). Businesses outside this designated area are not eligible to participate in the campaign. See the map below for reference, or click here.

     

    GENERAL RULES & CONDITIONS

    ✔ Unlimited Entries: You may enter multiple times—each unique receipt counts as one entry.
    ✔ Receipts Must Be Legible: Submissions must clearly show the business name, purchase date, and amount.
    ✔ Winner Selection: Winners will be randomly drawn from eligible entries.
    ✔ Winner Notification: Winners will be contacted via phone number, email or DM in their social media account provided at submission and must claim their prize within 7 days.
    ✔ Unclaimed Prizes: If a prize is not claimed within 7 days, a new winner will be selected.
    ❌ Invalid Entries: Fraudulent, duplicate, or altered receipts will be disqualified.
    ✔ Program Changes: The DWBIA reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the campaign if necessary.
