Martin Franssen, Durham Regional Police Services

Martin Franssen has been with Durham Regional Police Services (DRPS) since 1999. Prior to that, he served as a Military Engineering Officer (MILE) in the Canadian Armed Services. As a member of DRPS Franssen has worked in uniform capacity, investigator in the criminal investigation bureau and homicide, and has been with the Financial Crimes Unit since 2014. His particular area of specialty is complicated investigation, in particular, mortgage fraud and abuse of vulnerable persons.

Prior to the pandemic, Franssen conducted multiple seminars to increase awareness and stopping victimization particularly in the area of fraud, Power of Attorney and Last Will and Testament. Due to the pandemic he has switched to online platforms.
